It’s National Work Life Week!

This week is National Work Life Week, aimed at encouraging employers and employees to focus on work-life balance and wellbeing at work.

Earlier this year the right to request flexible working became a day one right for all employees, but has this changed employer views on flexibility?

Initial results from the 4-day working week trials held in 2022 showed an increase in staff happiness and wellbeing, improved work-life balance, increased staff retention and increased revenue for some of the companies taking part.

It seems that flexibility is a win-win situation, but it doesn’t just have to mean less hours or days on the job. Other options to consider include:

👉 Working from home

👉 Term-time working

👉 Job sharing

👉 Compressed hours

And for those industries like retail and manufacturing that rely on site-based teams or shift work, providing flexibility is still possible but requires a more creative approach to enhance the work-life balance:

💡Rota swapping

💡Static day options

💡Meeting free days

💡Finish early Fridays

💡Flexible bank holidays

Our friendly team can help with creating flexible working policies that are tailored to your specific organisational needs. We offer a free 30-minute consultation, our team are ready and waiting to help you.
